The Tree Table – a sculptural interpretation of an avenue of trees

Capable of seating 12-14 people, this dining table was commissioned for a modern glass-walled extension to a London house with tree-lined streets nearby. Architecturally, the room linked the inside space to the outside world. Using the tree-lined avenue as my inspiration, I reinforced this connection in my design.             The table has become a real talking point.

Abstracted and condensed tree shapes form the table’s understructure

Large section solid oak was used to support the 250kg glass table top

The sides of the legs were ebonised to suggest light and shade further accentuating the tree forms.
